My Kate Spain Projects and Mid Month Check In

It's safe to say I'm in love with Kate Spain fabrics (please, Sunnyside, arrive in my mailbox now, kthanks) - although I realized today that I hardly ever do projects based on just one fabric line or designer (though that is rapidly changing this year, with my current Good Fortune lantern quilt, and my in-the-plannning-stage AMH only quilt). The Kate Spain blog hop is going on at Blossom Heart Quilts, and I'm hear to share the two all-Kate Spain projects I've completed so far, plus a sneak peek!

First, we're reaching back to two summers ago - my Terrain skirt, which was my first (and only, so far) patchwork skirt! Terrain is my second favorite Kate Spain line right now (Central Park is my absolute fav - but I'm hoarding a layer cake and some yardage for when I have a baby one day). The skirt was a pretty big challenge at the time  - I believe I used the equivalent of two whole charm packs (I bought a layer cake and had a ton left over), plus some solids.

 Twirl :)

My recent Argyled quilt, which is my original design and was made as part of 1 Choice 4 Quilting's monthly QAL. You can see all of the tutorials for this quilt here!

I remember winning mini Terrain charms from Kate herself - I just about died with giddiness. I still have the card she sent me - lol :)

And, my lanterns are coming along :) ... think I can finish this quilt top for the link up at the end of the month? I think I can, I think I can. As soon as school is over in 6 days, I'll have quite a bit more time at my sewing machine. Tutorial coming soon! Still considering starting a lantern QAL if there is more interest! Let me know!

P.S. Sidenote - guess who has two thumbs, was a total quilty fangirl yesterday (that's what I told her), and got Angela Walters to sign my "Free Motion Quilting with..."  book? She gave a free lecture to our guild yesterday. Eep! I'll let you know when my post is up on our guild blog.
