*Technically* this is a finish for me, but it's still a WIP in the making!

We just sent out our quilt starters for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Bee! Our bee is a Round Robin format, so we keep passing on the quilts until they are tops. I gave mine to Ashley in person when we met up a couple of weeks ago. I decided to use a very rare neutral for me (black) with lots of jewel colors and random pops of white. I can't wait to see how it comes together!
My Elizabeth Hartman blocks (from Modern Patchwork) hanging off of my design wall. I was looking for a gradient effect!
I'm envisioning a kitchen sink quilt of modern blocks but with neutral space and lots of solids (like, not a traditional layout!). I sent the girls a bunch of written directions and a stack of fabrics to get them started. :)
Our bee is six months long, so this summer, I should be able to finish and quilt. I think I already know what fabric I'm going to use for backing:

Thanks to my beautiful friend Sandi (check out her new blog!), @craftyplanner on IG! There's no IKEA within a 2 hour or so distance and I have no idea when I will get over there, so she sent me some! Can I even tell you how long I've been waiting for this fabric?
Now I just have to work on Laura's quilt for the month - I can't wait until it gets here! I'm also the Queen Bee at the CJMQG this month and I still have to finalize my plans before Tuesday... heh. Stay tuned.

Glam Garlands! I love that pattern. I have one in the works myself. Love the gradient idea.
ReplyDeleteONLY two hours?! Ugh, I'd give up my first born (okay maybe not) for an IKEA within two hours--the closest to us is 8 hours and I've been there twice, ha. And you sent instructions with your blocks? I sent fabric and well wishes, haha.
ReplyDeleteohhh off to an awesome start, I love following along with the traveling quilts on everyone's blogs :)
