August Fresh Sewing Day and Goal

Wow, July was a crazy busy quilty month! I really worked hard to sew as much as I could and it paid off!

1. AMH Voile Quilt Top - Postcard QAL, 2. "Scatter" - orange peel baby quilt, 3. "Point Me", 4. "Midsummer", 5. Sagittarius Pillow, 6. Back - Sagittarius Pillow

I also officially started teaching classes at my LQS (and subbing there to cut fabric/help people!)! I'll talk about that more here soon but for now you can find details here.

The Orange Peel QAL is in full swing! You can see the linky for mid-way progress here. Lots of people are participating on Instagram! You can either link up a Flickr picture or blog post until Monday.

My August goal is to make the backing for my 2nd Sister's Ten quilt. I don't know if I'll start quilting it but maybe piecing the backing will force me to get going!

I also want to finish my voile quilt by September. Thanks to all the feedback on Instagram (and some from Anna Maria Horner herself!) I'm going to look for bamboo batting. I might hand quilt (gasp) but I just don't know. For a much quicker (I want to use it this summer!!) and less pain-inducing finish, I'll probably still use a machine. It's going to be a busy month between lots of sewing and job interviews!

  3. That was a ton of progress in July!! Wow. I am glad that you only gave yourself one goal in August - so that I am not alone in that 1 goal-ness. lol.

  5. I love your productivity! I need to go make an August to-do list, but next weekend we have house guests and birthday things and in three weeks we're going camping again...so I should probably set my sights pretty low, ha. Actually just three things: finish commission quilt, make a washi tunic, and make the orange peel quilt. There, that's settled.
