July Fresh Sewing Day

This is one of my favorite posts of the month - reflecting on a month's worth of craftiness. I can't believe it's JULY. How about you? Can you believe it? Really, think about it - we're halfway through 2013. Doesn't that just blow your mind?

1. Good Fortune Lantern Quilt Top finish, 2. "Summer Fun" Baby Quilt, 3. Block 1 - Sisters' Ten BOM June - Contrary Wife, 4. Good Fortune lantern quilt - in progress, 5. Summer fabric wrapped wreath, 6. Block 2 - Sisters' Ten BOM June - Contrary Wife

June was busy with the school year winding down, but I did manage to make a couple of things for important coworkers (the wreath and baby quilt). I somehow finished my June goal of piecing together my lantern quilt. I feel like this was a month of "pretty" creations for me. I was just over the moon using all the fabrics above - I felt like it all just worked out as my quilty brain had hoped :)

I've also been seeing shows lately. I saw Les Miserables (one of my favorites) at Plays in the Park on Friday with one of my best friends (though it got rained out, we were allowed to stay for the rehearsal - it was awesome!). Last night, I treated my mom and sister to The Little Mermaid at Paper Mill Playhouse. It's a little bit of a drive but we had a great night.

My 5-year-old self was grinning in glee :) Have I ever mentioned how much I love theatre? It's a whole lot. I'd love to do a musical theatre lovers' mini quilt swap someday! Any takers?

July is going to be pretty awesome. I'm going to Washington, D.C. for a couple days to spend time with my uncle and see Book of Mormon on tour, I'll be doing a LOT with the guild, teaching summer school, and trying to finish more projects!

I'm finalizing the details and prizes for the Lantern-A-Long, so stay tuned for a post (probably tomorrow!)

  7. It's good to see the Paper Mill Play House is still going strong. My husband and I used to have season tickets when we lived in Mendham, New Jersey over 20 years ago. I'm glad you were able to enjoy a show with your friends.
