I finally finished! It's been sitting all laid out on the living room floor for a few weeks (I have the best mom :) ). I just have not had a free hour (or two) where I was conscious enough to sew it all together. I've learned the hard way about how I sew when I'm tired... it's not a smart idea!
It was SO windy out today, but Marisa and I had fun taking pictures. Most of these were not planned! I think, when it's finished, I'm going to call it "Flying Purple People Eater." I can't think of a better name for something so purple-y (that flew today!).
I'm really pleased about how well the Kona Coal blends with the purple.
I can't wait to finish this one! And then it's sticking around :) This is the first quilt I've made (besides a t-shirt quilt) that I am actually keeping!
Little sis :)
More pics soon when I decide how to quilt it... any suggestions? I'm not very good with straight lines so I'm hesitating a bit.
If you don't like straight lines, them maybe some FMQ with stippling or stars inside meandering lines.
ReplyDeleteIt came out really pretty!
It's just beautiful. I think a large stipple over the purple areas would work nicely. On the gray areas you could switch to a slightly smaller stipple with free form stars once in a while!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! It is gorgeous. You did an awesome job. Purple is my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteOoh, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe background is great! Looks wonderful paired with the purple, and I love all the fabrics in the quilt too, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh - want want want!! That's it, I MUST make the made in cherry quilt - in purple with gray. Genius!
ReplyDeleteWow Jess, that looks fabulous.
