While I was basting quilts en masse last week, I couldn't help but take pictures from the second story. Just a peek at the life of a serial quilter - quilts and batting literally dominate the living room.
You have a pretty house- and how wonderful that you have enough space to baste a large quilt. Serial basting - I don't think my knees could handle that!
You may want to try the method that uses two boards. You can sit at your dining room table to baste. I will never go back to crawling on the floor. If you try it - Blue tape the quilt to the board to keep those first turns in line.
Jess, you are only just up the road. Please come down here and help me, lol I have several quilt tops neatly folded and hanging in the closet. I need to get started on that..... I have startophobia. I finished one baby quilt for Sarah. Go me.
I love your view from upstairs, pretty living room and quilts!
Oh and the first photo looked like someone sitting on the couch in a bathrobe and a towel on the head and feet in a snuggly bun warmer hahaha I thought that might have been your sister just hanging out and did not feel like moving lol
I'm not sure why, but I see a cute pudgy robot in the improv quilt. I guess it's kind of like guessing cloud shapes, but from the bloglovin icon picture, I was certain it was a robot and then surprised when It was just an improv shape. Either way, my comment is actually a compliment whether you intended it to look that way or not...robots are awesome!
I'm liking that Improv quilt more and more each time I see it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robby! Once I finally decided how to quilt it (with the help of many) it rose on my *want to finish* list!

ReplyDeleteThose aerial photographs are just magical, Jess! I love seeing the back of the epic medallion, it is so tidy. <3
ReplyDeleteTotally make me wish I had stairs above my basting area so I could get a shot like this! Can't wait to see how you quilt your medallion!

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! I have tried table basting before, which sounds similar. This is just such a huge quilt!
