Updates from the dorm room - hexagon projects

I finished a couple of things last week that I'd like to share! I decided not to post yesterday out of respect/in silence of the victims of 9/11 - plus, it was an emotional day on campus and I just could not bring myself to do it anyway.

This is my first time working with hexagons, but thanks to my Baby GO!, I have no qualms. This is a little table topper/placemat (not long enough to be considered a runner, I think) for Thanksgiving at my house. I love the Saltbox Harvest line! Luckily, I had a charm pack on hand.

I hand quilted and I love how it turned out!

I also made this flower from purple fabrics for my floormate and best friend. It's hanging on her bulletin board now (sorry about picture quality - my dorm room has perpetually horrible lighting no matter what I do!).

I also sold two Harry Potter inspired lanyards yesterday through my etsy shop! Gryffindor and Slytherin are still left. I plan to make more of these in a couple of weeks when I am home.

All I want to do is make things... rar... but I'm stuck here reading about German history and writing what is slowly becoming an unconsciously-grind-your-teeth frustrating senior honors thesis. As much as I love it... I can honestly say I'm excited to be done with school soon.

I'm working on a couple more little hand things - plus, my blogaversary is on Thursday - you wouldn't want to miss that... would you? ;) Plus, I'm very close to 100 followers, and that is also celebratory.
