I'm back!

I'm back from study abroad and almost fully recovered from jet lag! I found a couple of fabric and sewing shops in Prague and Berlin but they seemed pretty expensive to me, so I did not buy anything. Now it's summer for me, and I'm going to start by cleaning out my sewing "room" aka the dining room - and then I have all sorts of things I need to sew! I'm sad that I missed the Sew, Mama, Sew giveaway and the Blogger's Quilt Festival... so I expect I will have a giveaway soon :).

I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures of the trip with you:

P.S. There's a SUPER DUPER DUPER giveaway going on at 1 Choice 4 Quilting - they have awesome giveaways and I've said this before, but they have fantastic customer service. Go check out the blog, look at the store, or enter the giveaway ASAP - it ends tomorrow at 10 am Eastern.

Goodbye for study abroad (and some mail goodies)!

For the next two and a half weeks, I will be in Europe - Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland, to be exact!! I've only ever been up and down the East Coast of the U.S., including Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas, so this is a big step for me.

I'm on a Holocaust study tour, so while it will be sad and difficult at times, it will also be amazing. We'll be in some of the major cities over there. I'll be updating a few times, with a picture (hopefully of fabric, or quilt stores, or places I find that I think you might want to see!) - and then when I'm home, I'll finally be back to my sewing and blogging schedule, which has been really off the last couple of months! So, I hope you'll stick around!

Layout progress on my quilt for my niece - next time I show it at the end of May, I plan to have the quilt top finished (or possibly the whole quilt) - I can't wait to sew those ladybugs and flowers together when I get back.

Mail goodies recently:

Rainy Days and Mondays, and Sunkissed FQs from 1 Choice 4 Quilting -they have AWESOME customer service!

My monthly solid bundle from the Pink Chalk Fabrics Monthly Solids Club (love it, highly recommend.) Just look at those purples - I think my mouth started to water (sorry for the really blurry picture, but I could NOT get a good shot for some reason!).

Giveaway win from Beth! Thanks Beth!

See you soon!

All together now! and summer sewing plans

My rainbow Dresdens are done! I love the way they look all together! I wanted to take some pictures outside, but it was raining. I'll save it for when the final quilt is done.

All I have to do is make them into blocks - I'll be using Kona White - and I'll be putting a scrappy border around each one (or the whole quilt - I haven't decided). This will also be in rainbow colors.

There are seven Dresdens - what about the other blocks? Well, this is my plan right now:

I'm still working with it. What do you think? Any suggestions?

-----------------------------

So, my summer sewing plans are as follows:
(I'm linking up with others over at FairyFace Designs :) )

1. Finish the quilt top for the wedding quilt. The back won't be finished until 2012, because I want people at our wedding to sign it, in a guest book fashion.

2. Finish quilt for my now 4-year-old niece - this needs to be done by the beginning of June, so this weekend I will work on it, and when I get back from my trip. The reds are lady bugs, and the other scraps are where I'm tentatively sewing flowers.

3. Start a dress (for me!) I have the pattern and all the supplies, but I haven't started at all. I've just been oohing and aahing over the fabric.

4. Finish a t-shirt quilt for my friend Julie.

5. Work on my 3 Pay It Forward projects. I'm still thinking about what to do...

6. Start a Central Park quilt - for me :) My favorite fabric right now. I just love the purple.

7. And from there, I'll be starting other quilts that I have yet to publicly announce :o)

Fresh Sewing Day @ Lily's Quilts
I'm also linking up to Lily's Quilts - the Dresdens were definitely my favorite creation this month!

I have finals all this week (soooo busy) but I'll be posting much more starting this Thursday! I'm almost a senior in college now!
